Visitors to Gilmore Bank
On April 20, Gilmore Bank enjoyed the visit of 17 bankers from two regional community banks in Japan: Banshu Shinkin Bank and Tajima Shinkin Bank.  Kinyu Keizai Press, a publisher of financial news in Japan, arranged their visit. Kinyu organizes such trips annually to allow its participants to study worldwide trends in community banking.

This year's delegation chose to study practices and trends of California's community banks, specifically the impact of the recent mortgage crisis, how we connect with our local communities, how we compete against national banks, and what products and services we offer.  Of special interest was our Health Savings Account and our process for consumer loan approvals.
